The lodge features four comfortable bedrooms with private bathrooms, cozy common areas, and warm Patagonian hospitality. After a full day on the water, guests can enjoy regional cuisine, fine Argentine wines, and a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

CUISINE

Enjoy our gourmet and traditional cuisine every night; our professional chef will delight you with amazing Argentine and international dishes and good Argentine wine. 

Our Chef works passionately every day to satisfy all our guests and the menu was carefully designed to include the most popular meals requested in various restaurants throughout  the country. 

Besides taking inspiration from Italian and Spanish migrants, our dishes also feature ingredients from the Andean northwest as well as Patagonia in the south. The asado, an elaborate meal of grilled meat, is one of the most important culinary traditions.

We have remarkably good cuisine like steak, stellar ice cream, mouthwatering pastas, and dozens of other savory items. As always, our wish is to delight guests with fantastic food every evening, 

 We have special appetizers and drinks available before dinner, as well as delicious local desserts after every meal. Get ready to enjoy our famous sweet milk caramel, “dulce de leche”, breakfasts with eggs and bacon, and “Asados” (BBQ). We’re also always happy to accommodate special requests from our guests.

As a final suggestion, don't forget to try the Mate. It is the well reknown "Guacho" tea. 

THE FISHING

This program is beginner-friendly and can easily be adapted for those interested in learning or combining fly and casting techniques. You'll target three iconic trout species—brown, rainbow, and brook trout—in a variety of stunning environments including rivers, spring-fed creeks, high-altitude lagoons, and small lakes, with opportunities for both wade fishing and boat-based fishing depending on the water and conditions. The diversity of waters around the lodge gives you access to the widest variety of trout streams in northern Patagonia.

From the lodge, guests have excellent fishing opportunities on nearby waters such as Rivadavia River and Lake, Rio Caleufú, and Rio Grande, offering outstanding dry fly and streamer fishing for trout in breathtaking settings. For those looking to explore further, full-day excursions can be arranged to iconic destinations like Rio Corcovado or Lago Winter, expanding the variety of waters and fishing styles available.

GEAR AND EQUIPMENT

RECOMMENDED CLOTHING

Since we will be fishing in a mountain in the highland of the Andes in North Patagonia, you should expect winds and weather changes daily. You should plan on dressing in layers for November specially.

You will see temperature ranges from 35 to 90 °F often in the same day. Do not leave home without a good fleece jacket and a good gore-tex raincoat. Remember that the fleece will keep you warm even when wet.  Do not plan on wearing denim around the water, because once it is wet, it stays wet.

Following is a checklist of gear, clothes, etc, that clients have found helpful in the past:

• Bring a photocopy of your passport to carry with you on the river with your fishing license so you do not ruin your original
• The best possible Stockingfoot Waders, good quality and be sure that they do not leak. We DO NOT rent waders
• Felt–soled boots are not allowed in Patagonia. We recommend bringing wading boots with rubber soles or any other non-felt material.
• Rain coat, gore-tex is recommended
• Medium weight wind stopper fleece jacket
• Fleece vest
• Polarized sun glasses, we suggest 2 pairs
• Camera
• Hats, one with a full brim, one baseball cap
• Half finger gloves
• Thermal underwear
• Fleece wading pants
• Long sleeve quick dry shirts
• Quick dry pants

TRAVELLING HERE

The final destination for this fishing trip is El Maiten, Aeropuerto Brigadier General Antonio Parodi (EQS).

The best connections are through Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Most international flights leave the US in the evening and land in Buenos Aires (EZE) the following morning.

Delta (stop in Atlanta), United (non-stop, the fastest flight of 10 hours), American (connection in Miami) offer daily flights. Also check LAN flights but make sure that the connection is in Miami and not in Santiago de Chile because it takes longer.

Once you arrive in Buenos Aires, take a domestic flight to Esquel City through Aerolíneas Argentina. The Airport is located 40 minutes away from the lodge. 

There, you will be met by a company representative who will drive you to the lodge.

NOTE: Make sure that you have plenty of time (at least 4 hours) in between flights once you reach Buenos Aires. You will have to clear customs and take a trip by taxi or private car to the domestic airport. This trip usually takes 50 minutes but depending on traffic, it can take more than one hour. *
